
3. Method using probe for oscilloscope
Using a probe is most preferable to any other alternatives when
performing the measurement onto circuits.
The
probes arc available
with IX (direct c

ection) position
and
lOX (attenuation) position.

illoscope with probe increased at lOX position, measurement unit
(VOLT/ OIV) must be multiplied by ten (10). (e.g. it becomes 50mV X
10 = 0.05V in 50mV/OIV). As the probe
of
oscilloscope also uses
shielded wires, it
can
prevent
hum
and noise.
When
you intend to
perform the measurement by using the coaxial cable, you s
ho
uld
exactly know the source impedance, the highest frequency involved,
and the
capac
itance
of
the cable, etc,
If any of these factors are
unkn
own, use a 10 X probe.
